This recipe focuses on cleansing the body, but let us not forget about the mind.
A lot of folks might say it’s hocus pokus, but I challenge you to consider it.
Each and every second we are choosing our thoughts, conscious or not.
We can relate this to choosing our clothes each day. If you’re a shopper like me, the options have piled up in your closet, to the point where you can’t even see all of your options. Sometimes a brand new item gets lost in the shuffle of blouses, skirts, pants, etc., etc.
Here’s a great post from Farnoosh Brock, who left a 12-year corporate career to start her own company, Prolific Living Inc. It discusses de-cluttering and cleansing your mind. Note that it references minimalism, which per my closet comparison, I do not embrace; however, I think the principles can still be applied.
She says, “What would we do if we knew for a certain fact that a positive thought and a negative thought cannot occupy the same space in our mind at the same time? That they cannot co-exist at all? ”
“We want to be happy, free of worry and anxiety, free of stress and fear, and definitely free of clutter. We want to fill our minds with positive thoughts and our hearts with peace and joy and love. No?” Yes! Like I said, just consider it. Kinda like this beverage…
Description: “Green detox drink? GROSS!” … I know that’s what you’re thinking. However, I think if I was ever to convince you to at least try it, it would be after a day where the average American eats 4,500 calories in one meal – Thanksgiving. Yes my friends, all that butter, all those carbs, all the sweet treats – LOVE IT, but we all know how it makes us feel. All I will say is I dare you to taste this drink, just taste it. It’s mild, yet aromatic, full of bright citrus and is refreshing. It’ll get your mind, body and spirit ready for a MONTH of Christmas cookies…
Triple Threat Green Detox Tea

10 oz. coldpressed kale, apple, lemon juice
1. Bring water to a boil, and steep green tea bags for 10 minutes.
2. Fill pitcher with ice and pour tea over ice.
3. Add kale, apple and lemon juice. Stir and enjoy!
“We should start choosing our thoughts like we choose our clothes for the day.”
