Eat. LOVE & Find Perspective. Inspire.

I’ve had a stomach virus for the past 2 days. Not exactly food blog inspiration. As I was feeling bad for myself, I took a moment and realized cancer patients go through this each and every day when dealing with the agonizing side effects of their treatment. How could I possibly be feeling sorry for myself when I know my body is healthy enough to fight this virus within a few short days? Then I stumbled across this story

With a potentially terminal illness, this young girl could have had anything. A vacation to Disney World, the opportunity to meet her favorite TV star, a fairytale tea party, but instead she chose warm soup for the homeless. #perspective

“During chemo, you’re more tired than you’ve ever been. It’s like a cloud passing over the sun, and suddenly you’re out. You don’t know how you’ll answer the door when your groceries are delivered. But you also find that you’re stronger than you’ve ever been. You’re clear. Your mortality is at optimal distance, not up so close that it obscures everything else, but close enough to give you depth perception. Previously, it has taken you weeks, months, or years to discover the meaning of an experience. Now it’s instantaneous. “
