Who doesn’t love sitting down for a huge Thanksgiving feast?  The turkey.  The stuffing.  The cranberry sauce.  The only downside is that it comes once a year.  Although, I would argue that there is scarcity value at play because of that.  But, anyway, now you don’t have to wait until the last or the penultimate Thursday in November.  In fact, you can get all of Thanksgiving on one sandwich any time you want.

“Where can I get that?” you might ask?  The answer: at Jetties, located throughout the Washington D.C. area.

Jetties serves 14 specialty sandwiches and an option for you to create your own mouthwatering combo.  I’ve been fortunate enough to have a number of them, including the Surfside and the Smith Point, but the best – in my opinion – is the Thanksgiving special, the Nobadeer.  This Thanksgiving-feast-on-a-sandwich is complete with turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mayo, and is simply scrumptious.  Once I eat one, I usually have to go back for a second.  And once I have two, I usually ask if anyone wants to split a third.  I’m telling you, you’ve just got to have it.

Key Takeaways:

  • Jetties has a number of good sandwiches, but I haven’t found anything that beats the Nobadeer
  • If you’re not in D.C., this sandwich is worth the pilgrimage
  • Before you eat the Nobadeer, just make sure you’ve seen all the monuments and that you’ve scheduled nap time after lunch

Webbie’s Wisdom (or lack thereof): This month, I’m thankful for … sandwiches!
