Sleepy Time Smoothie

Sometimes, the only cure is a good night’s sleep.

And by sometimes…I mean most times.

This smoothie is full of ingredients that will help you recharge and get a good night’s sleep.

Like this banana, which is “chockfull of potassium and magnesium, which both help to relax your muscles to give you a peaceful night’s sleep. Bananas also have the added benefit of helping to lower your blood pressure while you sleep.” Thanks Dr. Oz.

And nutmeg and cinnamon, which both can naturally induce sleep.

Plus, it’s yummy and soothing. The perfect “midnight” snack. Or in my case “9’clock” snack because that’s my bed time. Yes, I’m 8 years old.

P.S. For all the new food bloggers out there like me, the picture above and below are a great way to show how lighting can greatly affect the color of your food…

Sleepy Time Smoothie

1/2 cup Echinacea tea (chilled)
1 banana
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
½ cup nonfat, plain greek yogurt
1 tsp ovaltine mix
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
2-3 ice cubes

Blend all ingredients until smooth!

“Most men pursue pleasure with such breathless haste that they hurry past it.”

-Søren Kierkegaard
